How can a user/editor get notifications at changes?

Hi
I am a super user (not developer). I got a question from one of our Main editors who is resposible for a collection of pages. She, in her turn, has several editors under her who are the persons that publish the content.
However, she wants to know when someone has done a change on "her" pages. We dont want to use the review- and approve function, just know when someone has done an update on a page.

Can the Notification be used for this? But how do I, or the Main editor, enable that? I cant see any choices to activate that.

User notification examples (optimizely.com)

I think you will have to do some coding to listen to content event and send notification. no such feature is available out of the box
