Restrict what variations and products that can be selected for a package

Hi,

Is it possible to restrict what variations and products that can be selected for a package based to product/variant type?

The porduct/variation should not me selectable in the modal/popup or be draggable from the right side menu if it is not of the custom class BookVariant inheriting from ProductVariation for a exampel.
