Shortcut/link page type

Creating a page type to link to either other EPiServer pages or external links I was going to create a property of type "URL to page/external address". However I think this is duplicating the functionality shown on the Shortcut/External Link tab. Has anyone created this sort of page type before or do you have an opinion on "best practice" for creating such a page type? Thanks.

Do NOT create a new pagetype for that purpose. As you say the functionality is in the Shortcut tab so use that. In general try to minimize the number of pagetypes in every system. /HAXEN
