Simple address not re-usable

Vote:

We have set up a site with frequent use of the "Simple address" (SA) feature. Normally it works just fine. BUT, when a page with an SA is deleted (put in the recycle bin) that page's SA is not possible to use on another page, an HTTP 403 - Access Denied is given. Also when the old page is deleted from the recyle bin, the SA is not possible to use on a live page. How can we make the original SA available to pages again? The site uses EPiServer 4.22.

I cannot reproduce this behaviour, the "Simple address" feature in EPiServer 4.20+ always ignores deleted pages already at the database layer. Can you explain if your test differs from mine: 1. Create a new page "Test page1" 2. Give page simple address "/testing" 3. Test the simple address. OK. 4. Delete page "Test page1" so it ends up in the wastebasket. 5. Create a new page "Test page2" 6. Give page simple address "/testing" 7. Make sure simple address points to new page. OK.
