Which version of Find are you using?
We had an issue where there was a loop of pages referring to each other in ContentAreas but I think that would be fixed in a release earlier this year.
Just to confirm that I understand the situation correctly: the problem did not occur with the previous cms/find/commerce versions that you used (which versions were those?) but it occurs with the current(?) versions? (8.4.0.886 for Find, which are the other versions?)
Either way, I think it may be hard to diagnose this here on the forum, I think what would be the most helpful is a memory dump taken after the problem has been triggered (during the high CPU usage), so that one can see the current state and what the running threads are doing.
I would propose that you register a support incident where you can provide the memory dump.

Hi,
I am using Episerver 7.5 and I have upgraded up to the latest of Episerver / FIND and Commerce. When we run a Scheduled Index job it Maxes out the CPU Usage on the server and the site grinds to a halt.
Is this an issue with us or with the upgrade?
Cheers,
Jon
