Setting up content editing for an externally hosted frontend breaks images in edit mode.

If you configure the CMS to use an external frontend site (to enable on-page editing on the externa site), images will break at some places in edit mode. Thumbnail images for example.

Configuration:

services.ConfigureForExternalTemplates();
services.Configure<ExternalApplicationOptions>(options => options.OptimizeForDelivery = true);

Thumbnail images will get this url

https://my-frontend-host.com/EPiServer/CMS/Content/globalassets/test-assets/hero.jpg,,62/Thumbnail?epieditmode=False?1695142172388

my-fronend-host.com is the frontend site, not the CMS site.

I have tried to set the CMS-hostname to type "Edit", but that didn't help.

Is this a bug, or did I configure something wrong?

Can't get ListItemUIHint to work with custom type

I followed the docs at https://docs.developers.optimizely.com/content-management-system/docs/property-value-list but I can't get my custom editor to work witin a list using ListItemUIHint.

I have a custom inline block type defined as this:

For which I have created a custom property editor which I register like this.

I then added this property to my page

Which in turn renders my custom editor fine as seen below.

Now I want to have multiple of these so I tried using the new "ListItemUIHintAttribute" to get this editor in a collection like this.

    [ListItemUIHint("EstateIdentifier")]
    public virtual IList<EstateIdentifierProperty> EstateIdentifiers { get; set; } = new List<EstateIdentifierProperty>();

But this just renders a plan editor like below.

Is this supposed to be supported with "ListItemUIHintAttribute"? If it is, what am I missing?

Unable to invalidated FIND (Search & Navihgation) cache results with a dependency (cacheDependencyKey) in CMS 12/.NET Core

In CMS 11 CacheDependency used to do the job for me

and invalidate the cache on PublishingContent event of the page

I am trying to invalidate the cache using the above code on the PublishingContent event but the FIND cache doesn't get invalidating. I have gone as far as removing all the FIND cache keys from MemeoryCache but still don't get the correct results.

Can someone help in solving this issue?

Archive page function does not work properly

Hi,

We recently upgraded from CMS v12.17.1 to v12.22.7 and have now noticed that archiving pages does not work properly anymore. The issue seems to come and go (according to our editors) and we developers haven't been able to reproduce the error yet. Running the same code but with the old version (12.17.1) does not give any errors during archiving. We've also verfied that the error occurs in at least v12.22.5 and v12.22.6 as well.

Here's and image of the error message our editors see when they hit the "Save" button in the archive popup:

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Number of Images Upload Limit

Hi,

I have never had to do this before however, I want to be able to upload 1000 images at once.

I thought this should be straght forward and that I can just drag and drop all the images into the image panel.

However it appears there is a maximum limit for the number we can upload at once, I presume 20 is the max.

Does anyone know the limit and if it is possible to override?

Hello,

I would like to implement a function for deleting users. For this purpose, I have written the following piece of code:

Apart from the BusinessManager.Delete() method, I also used other methods:

BusinessManager.Delete(entityObject);

contact.DeleteCustomerContactOnly();

Each of them was returning a Null Exception. After debugging, I noticed that this is happening because the MapUserKey class has a empty "_converters" list. It's worth adding that when I call the MapUserKey class explicitly in my application, it works correctly, and the "_converters" list has 5 elements.

Catalog import and DisableVersionSync bug

Hi,

I have found a bug or at least to me some unexpected behaviour of the use of DisableVersionSync="true" when using the Catalog Import. We are using commerce.13.16.x, but since the latest commerce tag in the forum is commerce.13.15.x I have tagged the post with this.

If DisableVersionSync is enabled in appsettings the related entries in the [ecfVersionProperty] are not updated when using the Catalog Import. Only the [CatalogContentProperty] table is updated.

The consequence of this is that the ContentLoader/ContentRepository, if no specific version is requested, returns the latest data. The Catalog UI however shows the latest data from the [ecfVersionProperty] table and hence it does not show the latest data to the editor.

What is even more unfortunate is that it has the "unintended" consequence that if an update is made on a single property through the Catalog UI, the property values in the [CatalogContentProperty] table are updated with all of the latest values from the [ecfVersionProperty] thereby overriding the latest data for all properties.

Steps to reproduce
1. Set DisableVersionSync="true"
2. Import a catalog.xml with variation entries.
3. Do a property update in the Catalog UI on a variation.
4. Import the catalog.xml again.
5. See that in the Commerce Manager the value of the updated property has been updated to the value in the catalog.xml.
6. See that in the Catalog UI the value of the updated property has not been updated.
7. Update another property on the variantion in the Catalog UI.
8. See that in the Commerce Manager the value of the originally updated property has been updated to the value which is was updated to through the Catalog UI in step 3.

Unable to move page to trash because of sql timeout

The stored procedure [ecf_GetContentReferencesInCatalog] is timing out when moving a page to trash.
We have updated CMS from 11.21.x to 12.22.x, I assume that this stored procedure is new?

For your info, we have about 9 000 000 entries in the table CatalogContentProperty, which is used in the stored procedure.

Is there any solution to move forward?

I got a problem when fetching a form block from the Content Delivery API. For example, when I call the API like this: https://localhost:5000/api/episerver/v3.0/content/2542?currentPageUrl=/page&expand=*

The response contains the formModel with template and assets, but the problem is that in the template the "Form__MainBody"-div is empty. I have checked in FormContainerBlock.cshtml and it seems like the Model.Form.Steps there is empty so no input fields are showing.

I have read on this page: https://docs.developers.optimizely.com/content-management-system/v1.5.0-content-delivery-api/docs/content-delivery-api-and-optimizely-forms , that you need to send a parameter named currentPageUrl equal to window.location.pathname or or it could lead to errors like the form steps not showing, similiar to my problem.

For the form it self I have tried with both adding steps elements and without them.

I'm grateful for any response!

I am trying add text to my Factblock, but get this error instantly after typing the text:

I tried adding [UIHint("StringsCollection")] to the IList<string> property, but im still getting the error.

I have a question regarding display Extended Protery in the Order Management table under the Orders tab.

I have two related questions regarding Commerce Extended Properties.

1 - First question - I have fields in Commerce Extended Properties that go under MetaClass PurchaseOrder and want to make it readonly and hide it in edit mode. Is there any example code or settings?

There are a couple of examples related to Block or Page properties to hide in the edit mode in CMS using EditorDescriptor and few other ways but did not see anything for Commerce Extended Properties.

SelectionQuery store requests yield 404 in DXP

We experience SelectionQuery REST store requests failing in DXP.

We have a property like:

Searches work fine both locally and in DXP, with requests URLs like: /EPiServer/Shell/stores/selectionquery/Features.Video.Vimeo.VimeoVideoSelectionQuery/?name=foo*

However, the autocomplete textbox doesn't retain its value in the UI, because store requests for the current value fail with a 404: /EPiServer/Shell/stores/selectionquery/Features.Video.Vimeo.VimeoVideoSelectionQuery/https%3a%2f%2fvimeo.com%2f310066821%2fab94f36985

The value of the selected item in this case is an encoded URL. Without encoding the URL value, the request fails both locally and on DXP (which makes perfect sense).

But since it works locally with an encoded URL value, I think it should work in DXP as well. The only obvious difference is DXP being behind Cloudflare.

I really wish the value would be included in the request body rather than the URL for the store request, but for now I'm trying to figure out why this works locally but not in DXP.

Any bright ideas? :)

Publishing Content Without Language Access Rights Check

The site supports multiple languages, with each language corresponding to specific roles. This setup ensures that users belonging to, for example, 'en-GB' can only create pages in that language.

The issue arises when an user copies a page, as the newly created one is generated in languages for which the user does not have access rights. It appears that the copying process does not respect the language-based security settings.
