Custom XForm Control for Captcha

Hi,
I would like to integrate a new XForm control which will use some kind of captcha service to provide spam protection for a form.
I want the new control to be selectable to the user via the form builder interface.
Are there any tutorials or helpful articles on how to extend form builder in this way?
