TinyMCE partial functionality under Windows authentication

Has anyone successfully implemented a CMS6 R2 upgrade where site is using ONLY windows authenticatin and TinyMCE under editmode provides all functionality?
We see problems under Internet Explorer whereby TinyMCE that (seemingly) require I/O are not functioning correctly. E.g: web link (the button that has the link with the globe), dynamic properties, image upload.
