Session Object With Cookies Disabled

Is there a way to pass session based objects when cookies are disabled?
I saw this post http://world.episerver.com/Blogs/Allan-Thran/Dates/2011/4/Going-Cookie-less-with-EPiServer-CMS/ but I still get a null object when I try to get it from the session.
