We've written a custom property which makes use of the visitor groups in order to show alternative content. However the "view as visitor group" option only shows in the editor when there is content for visitor groups added to the rich text areas.

Currently the workaround is to temporarily add some visitor group content to a text area, save & view, then "view as visitor group", then delete the temporary content in the text area before saving.

This is obviously quite a faff for the client. Is there a way of forcing the "view as visitor group" to show up when our property is on the pagetype?
