I would like to see the Simple Address feature extended to media files.

Our particular use case scenario is that we have hundreds of PDFs, and our call center requests short urls to provide over the phone. This is common in our industry. We're currently using a custom redirect gadget to create these, but it's a separate administrative task. It would be nice to have editors create these as they are adding and updating pdfs. Keeping track of these is a hefty chore, and we're constantly having to fix broken redirects when the files are updated,
