Best way to install CMS 5 R2?

Hi,
The question might sound stupid. But from what I understand there's two(?) ways to install EPiServer 5 R2? I install EPi, then I run the Deployment Center to create a site and a SQL-database. This works fine, and it installs as a separate website in IIS  7. But if I do it this way I'm not able to use the EPiServer templates for creating pages, property controls, etc.

The other way is to install only the core files and the VS 2008 integration. Now I can choose to create a new project, and choose an EPiServer 5 webproject. This way I can add items using the EPiServer templates for property controls, etc.

The site will eventually (when it's finished) be hosted by EPiServer Hosting. So in light of that. What is the best way to go about creating the site on my machine so it can be easily deployed to EPiServer Hosting when I'm done?
