DataFactory events not firing in newer EPiServer releases? (7.11, 7.10)

Vote:

I can't attach to any of the DataFactory events (CreatingPage, SavingPage, PublishedPage etc) after upgrade to EPiServer.CMS.Core 7.10 and 7.11. No new pages are indexed in Find either.

I just downgraded to 7.7.1 and now it works as it should.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Hmm, this could also explain why CMO is not working as it is also using DataFactorry events. We have 7.10 core and CMO and CMO is not working, A/B testing just does not fire.

Yeah, could definitely be the same problem. I'm not sure exactly what version the problem comes from though. Downgraded 7.11 to 7.10 and it was still there. I didn't have time to go through all versions so I went back to the one we had before, 7.7.1. Let me know if you find out any more about this please. :)

Hi

I have investigated this and I think I found the cause. The problem occurs when DataFactory.Instance is accessed before the IOC container is configured. I have reported a bug for this and hopefully we can release it in 7.13.1 in the end of the week.

If you are interested/willing to see that it actually solves your problem I might be able to put out a prerelease build of the fix in the feed perhaps today or tomorrow.

By the way. Is there anyone that has seen problem with Find indexing without having CMO installed?

Thanks for investigating this Johan. You don't have to put out a prerelease build for my sake.

FYI: I have CMO installed. Haven't tested without it.

There is now a package EPiServer.CMS.Core 7.13.1-pre-000578 in the feed with the fix included. You are most welcome to try it out!
