Remove EpiFind

Vote:

Due to an error that is happening right now, I would like to remove Epi Find from being used, while still maintaining the refrence in the projects so that they can be easily added back in again in the future.  Can anybody offer suggestions on how to go about doing that?

Hi Steven,

Deleting / commenting out sections from a web.config file should be sufficient.

I commented out the find portion and that seems to be working.  I tried to setup the epi search so that content can be searched on in the CMS.  It seems like things are working as far as indexing content, but I am not getting any results still in the actual search.

Hi Steve,

When you say that actual search doesn't work, do you mean search inside Episerver CMS or your custom search?

Make sure that you have enabled search providers: Admin / Config / Search Configuration.

You can use also use Luke to inspect your search index: https://code.google.com/archive/p/luke/downloads

I was referring to within the CMS when searching for existing content and commerce objects.  I will take a look at your links.  Thanks.

I checked out the index and it appears to be empty.  It looks like when I ran the full search index job there were errors thrown behind the scenes related to epi find.
