Run Episerver in Docker with microsoft/dotnet

We are running Episerver CMS on Windows Server, but would like it to run in a Linux container instead.
We have several dotnet core applications running on the Docker image microsoft/dotnet already and see both performance and cost benefits already, as well as much better operability.
Is there any chance that Episerver CMS will run on i.e. microsoft/dotnet container in Linux?

No, Episerver doesn't support .NET core as yet. It's been moving toward .NET standard 2.0 compatibility (it may be there already) to support this migration but there's a lot of work to do especially in the admin and forms which is heavily built around webforms.

It is coming however, it's on the roadmap.

The evolution of the platform over the last year or two has actually enabled internal product developers to get a version of Episerver hacked together that does deliver content in a linux environment.

As Scott says - its not here yet, but its close and constantly getting closer.
